Pilgrimage to England: In the Footsteps of the Martyrs

Join Fr. Daniel Scheidt, chaplain of the Fort Wayne chapter of Legatus, on a profound journey through the heart of Catholic England. Pilgrims will walk in the footsteps of St. Thomas More and St. John Fisher, two giants of conscience whose heroic fidelity to Christ and His Church during the brutal years of the English Reformation continues to inspire believers today. The Catholic pilgrimage also carries a rich literary and intellectual dimension, venturing into Stratford-upon-Avon to explore the world of William Shakespeare—baptized and buried in the very church pilgrims will visit—before turning to Oxford, where the legacy of C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, and the Oxford Movement comes vividly to life, as well as the ability to encounter the towering figure of St. John Henry Newman, the newest Doctor of the Church. Throughout it all, the true heart of the pilgrimage beats in the community forged among fellow Legatus members — gathering daily around the altar for Mass, sharing reflections, and building friendships rooted in a common love for Christ and His Church.
