Grand Coteau Retreats Central Europe Pilgrimage

Journey to the heart of Central Europe on a pilgrimage through Prague, Vienna, and Budapest, three imperial capitals where the Catholic faith shaped centuries of art, learning, and devotion. Kneel before the Infant Jesus of Prague, pray at the tomb of St. John Nepomucene, and walk the halls of the Clementinum, where the Jesuits built one of the great libraries of Europe. In Austria, ascend to Melk and Heiligenkreuz, stand beneath the Baroque splendor of Vienna's Jesuit Church, and join the pilgrims who have sought Our Lady at Mariazell for more than eight centuries. Cross into Hungary to visit Pannonhalma Archabbey, venerate the Holy Right Hand of St. Stephen, and celebrate Mass in the Cave Church above the Danube before ending at the basilica of Esztergom. Each day is anchored in Eucharistic adoration and Mass, so that the cathedrals, abbeys, and shrines along the way are encountered not as monuments alone but as living places of prayer. Along the way, savor Czech, Austrian, and Hungarian cuisine, music, and hospitality in a region where beauty and belief have always walked together.
