IMPORTANT FLIGHT DETAILS

Group flights will be offered from O’Hare to Madrid in July. This package will include a bus transfer from Bloomington to O’Hare. Please wait to book independent airfare until you receive the “Tour is Confirmed” email with arrival details and group transfer instructions.


Itinerary


Day 1: Monday, May 31: - Depart USA

Depart on group flights from Chicago to Madrid, Spain.


Day 2: Tuesday, June 1 - Arrival | Madrid 

Upon arrival in Madrid, meet your professional Spanish tour manager and, time permitting, take a panoramic bus tour of Madrid. Celebrate Mass at the Almudena Cathedral, then check-in to your hotel and enjoy a group dinner. Overnight in Madrid.


Day 3: Wednesday, June 2 - Madrid | Ponferada 

Enjoy a morning at leisure before checking-out of your hotel and transferring to Ponferada. Celebrate Mass and check-in to your hotel. Group dinner and overnight in Ponferada.


Day 4: Thursday, June 3 - Ponferada | O’Cebriero | Triacastela – 14 miles | Estimated Walking Duration: 6 hours

This morning, depart for O’Cebriero, home to an awe-inspiring 14th century Eucharistic miracle where the precious blood and body turned into flesh and blood. Celebrate Mass there, then begin your Camino de Santiago, walking 14 miles to the town of Triacastela. Upon arrival, transfer to Sarria for a group dinner and hotel check-in. Overnight in Sarria.


Day 5: Friday, June 4 - Portomarín – 14 miles | Estimated Walking Duration: 6 hours

After breakfast, begin your first day of hiking through beautiful oak forests and charming Galician villages. Pass through the village of Barbadelo, home to a stunning Romanesque church, and continue along the chapel of Morgade before arriving in the medieval town of Portomarín. Group dinner and overnight in Portomarín.


Day 6: Saturday, June 5 - Palas de Rei – 14 miles | Estimated Walking Duration: 6 hours

Departing Portomarín, cross the Miño River and continue through a gently hilly landscape. Along the way, pass through the village of Gonzar and the area of Castromaior, home to the Romanesque church of Santa María. Arrive in Palas de Rei for a group dinner and overnight stay.


Day 7: Sunday, June 6 - Arzúa – 16 miles | Estimated Walking Duration: 7 hours

Walk toward Boente and visit its magnificent Church of Santiago. Along the way, pass through the medieval village of Ribadiso before arriving in Arzúa. This small town features two notable churches—Santiago and Santa María Magdalena. Group dinner and overnight in Arzúa.


Day 8: Monday, June 7 - Lavacolla – 16 miles | Estimated Walking Duration: 7 hours

Continue to the village of Lavacolla, where pilgrims traditionally purified themselves in the river before reaching Santiago de Compostela. Walk along paths lined with tall eucalyptus trees toward Monte do Gozo, where you will catch your first glimpse of the cathedral towers. Group dinner and overnight in Lavacolla.


Day 9: Tuesday, June 8 - Santiago de Compostela – 6 miles | Estimated Walking Duration: 3 hours

After a final descent, arrive in Santiago de Compostela. Celebrate Mass at the Cathedral of Santiago, followed by time to explore the cathedral and the lower crypt, which houses the relics of St. James. Enjoy a group dinner and overnight in Santiago de Compostela.


Day 10: Wednesday, June 9 - Santiago de Compostela | Madrid 

Take this morning to explore the streets of Santiago before checking out of your hotel and transferring back to Madrid, where we will celebrate Mass at the Basilica of St. Francis the Great. Take part in a festive farewell dinner, celebrating the rewarding completion of the Camino de Santiago. Overnight in Madrid.


Day 11: Thursday, June 10 - Departure 

Return to the USA after an inspirational week of reflection, prayer, and thanksgiving for God’s goodness and the beauty of His creation.

*This price reflects a $250 per person Early Booking Discount for deposits received before 5/18/2026 and a $115 per person Cash Discount for those paying the total cost of the tour by check/cash

TRAVEL PROTECTION: 

Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) travel protection is highly recommended. 


PAYMENT SCHEDULE AND CANCELLATION TERMS: 

Deposit: $500 per person due upon registration

Second Deposit: $1,250 additional due on or before 1/1/27

Final Payment: Balance due on or before 3/2/27

Please note late payments will incur a $50 late fee. 


All cancellations must be received in writing. Payments are non-refundable and subject to CTS Terms and Conditions, including the CTS Liability Release. CTS reserves the right to cancel any reservation if payments are not made according to the payment schedule. A $25 fee will be added to any reinstated reservation.
