ITINERARY
Day 1: Monday, October 12 - Depart USA
Depart on independent flights for Rome, Italy.
Day 2: Tuesday, October 13 - Welcome to Rome
Arrive in Rome on independently scheduled flights and transfer to your hotel, the Westin Excelsior. Balancing historic charm and contemporary vibrancy, its magnificent architecture pays tribute to the enduring beauty of the Eternal City. In the evening, gather for a warm welcome reception and dinner with Msgr. Hogan and staff from Patrons Rome Office.
Day 3: Wednesday, October 14 - Encounter with the Holy Father
Attend the Papal Audience with Pope Leo XIV in St. Peter’s Square. A special lunch will be prepared at the Casina Pius IV, a patrician villa in Vatican City. That evening, experience a private, breath-taking sunset visit and rooftop reception at St. Mary Major Basilica.
Day 4: Thursday, October 15 - History Revealed
Discover the Vatican Museums Restoration Labs, where priceless works are preserved. Then, take an exclusive tour of the Apostolic Palace, Hall of Blessings, and the Pauline Chapel. This evening, enjoy a visit to St. Paul Outside the Walls followed by a private reception in the Cloister.
Day 5: Friday, October 16 - Castel Gandolfo Retreat
Journey to the peaceful hilltop town of Castel Gandolfo. Tour the Apostolic Palace and the Vatican Observatory before a lovely lunch overlooking Lake Albano. Take in the views in this serene setting before returning to Rome.
Day 6: Saturday, October 17 - The Heart of the Church
Take a guided tour of St. Peter’s Basilica built over the tomb of the first Pope. In the evening, celebrate Mass followed by an exclusive after-hours tour of the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel, including the Last Judgment. The evening culminates with a black-tie gala dinner.
Day 7: Sunday, October 18 - Day of Rest
After a leisurely breakfast, take time on your own to explore iconic landmarks such as the Pantheon, stroll through charming neighborhoods like Trastevere, or relaxing in the beautiful gardens of Villa Borghese. The hotel also offers the option to relax at their on-site wellness spa.
Day 8: Monday, October 19 - Return Home
After breakfast at the hotel and check-out, take independent transfers to the airport.
