St. Francis of Assisi Retreat Center Pilgrimage to Italy
Dear friends, I invite you to join me on a pilgrimage to Assisi and Rome as I celebrate my 35th anniversary of ordination to the priesthood. As a seasoned pilgrimage leader, I look forward to guiding you through these sacred places with both spiritual depth and joyful fellowship. Together, we will walk in the footsteps of the saints—praying at the Basilica of St. Francis, visiting San Damiano, and honoring St. Carlo Acutis—before continuing through Orvieto and into the heart of the Church in Rome. In Rome, we will celebrate Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica, attend a Papal Audience, and visit some of the most sacred sites in the Catholic Church. Each moment will be an invitation to deeper prayer, reflection, and shared fellowship. I would be honored for you to share in this grace-filled pilgrimage with me.

This tour is being sold as land only. Optional group airfare out of Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport will be offered approximately 10 months prior to departure for an additional cost. If you prefer to book your own airfare and fly independently, please wait to do so until you receive the “Tour is Confirmed” email with arrival details and group transfer instructions.
ITINERARY
Day 1: Thursday, September 30 - Depart USA
Depart on overnight flights to Rome.
Day 2: Friday, October 1 - Arrival in Rome
Upon arrival in Rome, meet your tour manager and transfer by private coach to Assisi. After hotel check-in, celebrate Mass at a local church and gather for a welcome dinner. Overnight in Assisi.
Day 3: Saturday, October 2 - Assisi
After breakfast, celebrate Mass at the Basilica of St. Francis, followed by a guided walking tour including the Basilica of St. Clare. After free time for lunch, visit San Rufino Cathedral, where St. Francis and St. Clare were baptized, and Santa Maria Maggiore to see the tomb of Carlo Acutis. Evening at leisure with dinner on your own. Overnight in Assisi.
Day 4: Sunday, October 3 - Assisi
After breakfast, celebrate Mass at San Damiano, where St. Francis received his call. Enjoy free time after lunch to explore Assisi, visit sacred sites, or walk its medieval streets. Dinner on your own. Overnight in Assisi.
Day 5: Monday, October 4 - Assisi | Orvieto | Rome
After breakfast and hotel check-out, travel to Orvieto, where you will celebrate Mass at the Orvieto Cathedral. Following Mass, enjoy a guided visit connected to the Eucharistic Miracle of Bolsena and admire the famous frescoes by Luca Signorelli. After free time and lunch on your own, continue to Rome for hotel check-in and a group dinner. Overnight in Rome.
Day 6: Tuesday, October 5 - Rome | Christian Rome Tour
After breakfast, celebrate Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica and enjoy a guided tour. Visit the Archbasilica of St. John Lateran, Basilica of the Holy Cross in Jerusalem, and the Scala Sancta. Evening at leisure with dinner on your own. Overnight in Rome.
Day 7: Wednesday, October 6 - Rome
After breakfast, attend the Papal Audience (pending confirmation). Celebrate Mass and enjoy lunch on your own. In the afternoon, visit the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. Evening free with dinner on your own. Overnight in Rome.
Day 8: Thursday, October 7 - Rome | Gandolfo
After breakfast, depart for Castel Gandolfo, the historic summer residence of the popes. Upon arrival, celebrate Mass followed by a guided tour of the Apostolic Palace. Enjoy free time for personal exploration and lunch on your own before returning to Rome for an evening at leisure. Overnight in Rome.
Day 9: Friday, October 8 - Rome | Ancient Rome Tour
After breakfast, celebrate Mass at the Basilica of Saint Mary Major, followed by a guided tour. Continue with an exploration of Ancient Rome, including the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill. Enjoy free time in the afternoon before gathering for a farewell dinner. Overnight in Rome.
Day 10: Saturday, October 9 - Return to USA
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your return flights home.

Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) travel protection is highly recommended.
PAYMENT SCHEDULE AND CANCELLATION TERMS:
Deposit: $500 per person due upon registration
Second Deposit: $1,250 due on or before 4/30/2027
Final Payment: Balance due on or before 6/30/2027
Please note late payments will incur a $50 late fee.
All cancellations must be received in writing. Payments are non-refundable and subject to CTS Terms and Conditions, including the CTS Liability Release. CTS reserves the right to cancel any reservation if payments are not made according to the payment schedule. A $25 fee will be added to any reinstated reservation.
